Short Title
This regulation may be cited as the Transport Operations (Road Use Management-Road Rules) and Other Legislation Amendment Regulation 2018.

This part amends the Transport Operations (Road Use Management—Road Rules) Regulation 2009.

Amendment of s 5 (Compliance with standards)
 
(1) Section 5(1)--

insert--

(c)
a reference to a standard using the designation made up of ‘UN ECE’ and a number is a reference to the standard as in force from time to time under that designation.
Example--

‘UN ECE 22.05’ is a reference to the standard that is in force under that designation at the relevant time.

 
(2) Section 5(3), definition standard, ‘or AS/NZS’--

omit, insert--

, AS/NZS or UN ECE

The helmet regulations are set directly in part 16 of the Road Rules Regulations 2009, Rule 270

There are no known gazetted regulations under the discretion of the chief executive allowing other standards.

The addition of Quads into RR270 makes it harder to unify the rules under the ARR
