650GS ECU
Information

The 650GS models up until 2014 have the benefits of fuel injection without excessive electronics.

The wiring harness is a conventional harness without CAN BUS and only the engine BMSC is programmable.

The ABS system on the F650GS remained the same until the G Series was introduced, info on ABS is in repairs.

The dash assembly introduced on the 2012 G650GS and Sertao has remained non programmable

F650GS and Dakar 2000 to 2004

Engine BMSC is made by Hella, early firmware is problematic, see pdf

The ABS is ABSN, a Denso design produced by Bosch

The Dash has 1 circuit board, see Repairs for more info
The dash firmware is specific to the 2000-04 model.

F650GS Dual Spark 2005 - 2007
G650GS / X and Sertao up to 2010

The Engine BMSCII is made by Hella and is the same for both models
There have been firmware problems, see the pdf below

The 2005-07 ABS is ABSN, a Denso design produced by Bosch

The 2007-11 ABS is ABS8N, a Denso design produced by Bosch

The GS Dash has 1 circuit board, see Repairs for info
The 650X has a different dash and different BMSC firmware

G650GS and Sertao 2010-2012

The BMSCII is the same as the F650GS/M and G650GS but the dash is different

The ABS is ABS8N, a Denso design produced by Bosch

Little is known about the Dash internals, I would like to see a faulty one.

G650GS and Sertao 2013+

The engine ECU has been changed to a Magneti Marelli BMSE
This is the same hardware as the C650/C650GT Scooters
The change in production occured around April 2013.
Fitting an earth strap to the BMSE case is recommended.

The ABS is ABS8N, a Denso design produced by Bosch
